How Many m² Are on a Pallet of Tiles?

How many m² come on a pallet of tiles, what a pallet costs in the UK, when it beats buying by the box, and how to work out the pallets your room needs.

Full pallet of Marvra porcelain tile boxes, shrink-wrapped and strapped, ready for UK delivery

A pallet of porcelain tiles at Marvra holds 37.80 m² or 38.88 m², depending on the tile size. Our full pallets cost £686.38 to £806.00 including VAT and free UK delivery, which works out at £17.65 to £20.73 per m² (Prices in October 2026).

That is about 7.5% less than buying the same area box by box, so a pallet pays off once your project needs roughly 36 m² of one tile. This guide gives the figures for every pallet we have in stock, explains what decides how much fits on a pallet, and shows how to work out how many pallets your room needs. If you already know your numbers, browse every pallet of tiles we have in stock.

How many m² are on a pallet of tiles?

There is no single answer across the trade, because tiles are packed onto a pallet by the box, not by the square metre. The maker sets how many boxes go on a pallet, and each box covers a fixed area. So the sum is always:

m² per pallet = boxes per pallet x m² per box

On our pallets that gives:

  • 36 boxes x 1.08 m² = 38.88 m² of 30 x 60 cm tiles
  • 35 boxes x 1.08 m² = 37.80 m² of 40 x 90 cm tiles
  • 27 boxes x 1.44 m² = 38.88 m² of 120 x 60 cm tiles

If you compare pallets from different places, ask for the m² per pallet and the price per m². "One pallet" can mean a very different amount of floor from one supplier to the next.

The tile count comes from the tile size. A 30 x 60 cm tile covers 0.18 m², so a 1.08 m² box holds 6 tiles. A 40 x 90 cm tile covers 0.36 m², so 3 to a box. A 120 x 60 cm tile covers 0.72 m², so 2 to a box.

Each deal has its own page with the live stock count:

These are outlet deals in limited stock: when we wrote this there were 3 to 6 pallets of each left.

What decides how many m² fit on a pallet?

Tile size

Larger tiles go fewer to a box, and box sizes differ by format. Our 30 x 60 and 40 x 90 cm boxes each cover 1.08 m², while a 120 x 60 cm box covers 1.44 m² with just two tiles in it. The size of the tile changes the box count per pallet, not only the tile count.

Thickness

A thicker tile weighs more per m², so a pallet of it usually carries fewer square metres. All our tiles are 11 mm, which is why our pallets land so close together, between 37.80 and 38.88 m².

Box count

The number of boxes is fixed so the load stays safe to lift, wrap and unload by tail lift. That is why a pallet deal is a set quantity: what is on the pallet is what ships.

Is a pallet of tiles worth it?

A pallet is worth it when you need roughly 36 m² or more of one tile, including your 10% for waste. On today's prices, the full pallet costs less than buying by the box once you need:

  • 34 boxes or more of Cava Veins 30 x 60 (36.72 m²)
  • 33 boxes or more of Ascoli or Haven 40 x 90 (35.64 m²)
  • 25 boxes or more of Harrat 120 x 60 (36.00 m²)

Other reasons a pallet makes sense:

  • Lower price per m². About 7.5% under the per m² price on the same tile.
  • Free delivery whatever the value. Orders by the box are free over £349 and £89.95 below.
  • One order of one tile. Buying everything at once helps keep the shade even across the floor.

When it is not worth it:

  • A small room. A 6 m² bathroom floor needs a handful of boxes, not a pallet.
  • Mixed tiles or sizes. A deal cannot be split or mixed: fewer boxes are sold at the normal per m² price on the product page.
  • No safe drop-off point. A pallet arrives by tail lift and is left at the kerb, so you need space and help to move the boxes.

How many pallets of tiles do I need?

Four steps:

  1. Measure the floor. Length x width for each area, then add the areas together.
  2. Add 10% for cuts and breakages. Your fitter may ask for more on a diagonal or herringbone layout.
  3. Divide by the m² per pallet and take the whole pallets.
  4. Price what is left. If the remainder reaches the box counts above, take one more pallet. If not, buy the extra boxes.

Worked example: Harrat Anthracite in a kitchen-diner

Harrat Anthracite 120 x 60 cm matt porcelain on a kitchen floor and wall with dark wood units

A kitchen-diner of 6.0 m x 5.5 m is 33 m². Add 10% and you need 36.3 m². Harrat comes in 1.44 m² boxes, so 36.3 ÷ 1.44 = 25.2, which rounds up to 26 boxes (37.44 m²). By the box, that costs £840.53.

The Harrat Anthracite pallet is 27 boxes, 38.88 m², for £806.00. It costs £34.53 less than the 26 boxes and leaves you a spare box for repairs later.

Now a whole ground floor of 65 m². With 10% that is 71.5 m². One pallet covers 38.88 m², leaving 32.62 m², or 23 boxes (33.12 m²) at £743.54. That is under the 25-box mark, so boxes beat a second pallet: £1,549.54 in total. Two pallets would cost £1,612.00 for 77.76 m², so you would pay £62.46 more for 5.76 m² you may not need.

How a pallet of tiles is delivered

Pallets are delivered in 1 to 3 days, free anywhere in the UK, including the Highlands, islands and Northern Ireland. They travel on a tail-lift vehicle and are generally left at the kerbside, depending on the vehicle and access. The driver cannot carry the boxes further into your property, and someone must be there to receive the delivery. The carrier normally calls on the day.

Check the pallet before the driver leaves. Note any damage or shortage on the delivery note, then photograph it and email contact@marvra.com within 24 hours. Do not cut or fit damaged tiles. The deal pages also list 14-day returns on full, unopened boxes.

Your questions

How many m² are on a pallet of tiles?

On our full pallets, 37.80 m² or 38.88 m², depending on the tile size. 36 boxes of 30 x 60 cm tiles or 27 boxes of 120 x 60 cm tiles make 38.88 m², and 35 boxes of 40 x 90 cm tiles make 37.80 m². Other suppliers pack differently, so always ask for the m² per pallet.

How much does a pallet of tiles cost in the UK?

Our full pallets of porcelain cost £686.38 to £806.00 including VAT and free UK delivery, or £17.65 to £20.73 per m² (Prices in October 2026). Each deal page shows the live price and stock.

Is a pallet of tiles worth it?

Yes, if your project needs about 36 m² or more of one tile, including 10% for waste. Our pallets cost about 7.5% less than buying the same area by the box, and delivery is free. For a smaller room, buying by the box is usually cheaper.

How many tiles are on a pallet?

It depends on the tile size. Our pallets hold 216 tiles of 30 x 60 cm, 105 tiles of 40 x 90 cm or 54 tiles of 120 x 60 cm, worked out from the box coverage and the tile size.

How many pallets of tiles do I need?

Measure the floor in m², add 10% for cuts and breakages, and divide by the m² per pallet. Take the whole pallets, then price the rest: if it comes to about 36 m² or more, one more pallet is cheaper; if less, buy the extra boxes.

Can I split a pallet deal?

No. A pallet deal is one tile in one size, in the quantity shown on the deal page, and that is what makes the price. If you need fewer boxes, buy them at the normal price per m² on the product page.
