About Summer Daze

Summer Daze is a polished 3D printed quartz worktop: a white ground with lively brown and grey veins. It comes in slabs of 320 × 160 cm, 20 mm thick. We measure your kitchen, cut the stone to fit in our workshop, sink, hob and upstands included, and fit it.

Good to know about quartz

Natural quartz crystals bound with resin and pigment, pressed into slabs. Engineered, so the pattern is designed rather than found, and it repeats predictably across a whole kitchen.

Know this first Heat is the weak point, and it is the resin rather than the quartz. A pan straight off the hob can leave a dull mark or a scorch that does not come out, so a trivet is not optional. Prolonged direct sunlight can also shift the colour over years, which is why quartz is an indoor surface.

• Nothing soaks in. The surface is non-porous, so wine, oil and coffee sit on it. There is no sealer to apply and none to forget.
• What you choose is what arrives. Slabs are made to a recipe, so the worktop matches the one you chose and a second slab matches the first. That matters on a long run or an island plus a back run.
• Hard wearing. Quartz sits near the top of the hardness scale, so ordinary kitchen use does not dull it. Use a board anyway, to protect the knife.

Looking after it. Warm water and washing-up liquid. Nothing abrasive, nothing bleach-based, and a trivet under anything hot.
