Quartzite carries long marble-like veining but is one of the hardest natural worktop stones, so knives and pans mark it far less.

There is no resin in it, so a hot pan does not scorch it the way it can scorch engineered quartz.

It is quarried, not made, so the slab you choose is the one that is cut for your kitchen.

It is natural stone, so it is sealed when fitted and about once a year, and the veining varies from slab to slab. Some stones sold as quartzite are softer and closer to marble: we tell you which kind a slab is before you choose it.
